If your student struggles with any of the following:

• Completing assignments
• Note-taking during lectures or from readings
• Reviewing for a test
• How to read textbooks
• How much time needed to prepare for a test
• Knowing if s/he has learned the material

The issue is probably how to study. Our tutors in Bettendorf, IA can help walk your student – elementary through college – through the various steps and skills needed to learn how to gather information, make notes, how to make sure new information is integrated and learned, and how to confidently prepare for exams.

The Importance of Study Skills for Academic Success

Studying is often seen as supplementary to what is taught in the classroom. A way to drive it home, but in many ways, it’s actually where the most impactful learning takes place. It allows for deeper comprehension which leads to higher academic performance. However, it requires some skills of its own.

Not having the right study skills tends to lead to frustration, not absorbing the content of a subject properly, and ultimately, falling behind in subjects. All of this impacts the student’s academic performance and can have long-term effects moving forward in life.

Tutoring in Bettendorf can help a student overcome those challenges, though. A tutor can not only help the student by guiding them through the subject and helping them understand it, but they can teach them effective study skills that make them more effective on their own, as well; enhancing their ability to maximize their out-of-class studying efforts, classroom performance, and more.

How Does it Work?

At Learn for Life, we take a unique approach to tutoring that you won’t find at a learning center or other tutoring opportunities. We approach tutoring as a one-on-one endeavor that is fully customized to the needs of the student being tutored.

Our study skills tutoring course is designed as a comprehensive program meant to help students in the short term by guiding them through their studies while giving them skills that move beyond studying and into their everyday life. We will take time to learn about the individual student’s needs, pair them with a tutor who matches their personality and tutoring needs, devise a plan to create the most impactful tutoring course possible, and schedule sessions around the needs of the student.

Not only will the person being tutored be able to more effectively learn in the classroom, but effective studying skills can help later in life with more complex tasks such as research, staying informed, and generally comprehending complex information more effectively. It’s the goal of our course to not only help in an academic sense but to provide lifelong skill development for a brighter future.

Why Choose Our Study Skills Tutoring Services?

Studying effectively is important for far more than just academics. It has a long-term impact on your ability to learn and interact with the world around you. As such, when you’re reaching out for tutoring services to help, you want a service that is going to have a dramatic impact.

At Learn for Life, that’s what we strive to offer.

Our tutoring services in Bettendorf are individualized for each participant. When you reach out to us, we take the time to learn about you, the best way you learn, the personality and skillset required to teach you most effectively, and the scheduling needs you to require to accommodate your busy schedule. This is a far step above tutoring centers that take a similar approach to the classroom; where everyone is treated the same, and the services provided don’t cater specifically to your needs.

Our tutoring team is comprised of the most qualified tutors possible. Each one is experienced in the specific field they tutor in, vetted for performance, and matched specifically to each participant to ensure that the relationship is fruitful.

Without a flexible approach to tutoring and a long list of services, you can become a more effective studier, enhance your academic performance, and develop lifelong skills.
